On Wednesday, January 3, Starbucks welcomed the new year with its new winter menu. Among the debuts are the Iced Hazelnut Oatmilk Shaken Espresso, alongside returning fan favorite Pistachio Cream Cold Brew and Pistachio Latte.

The new Iced Hazelnut Oatmilk Shaken Espresso is made with Starbucks Blonde Espresso, which is sweetened with hazelnut syrup, and then shaken to perfection and topped with smooth, creamy oatmilk.

“Hazelnut is a classic coffeehouse flavor – its smooth, nutty taste is perfectly complemented by the candied apple and bittersweet chocolate notes of Starbucks Blonde Espresso. The oatmilk adds a creamy and luscious texture to round out the Iced Hazelnut Oatmilk Shaken Espresso,” says Starbucks beverage developer Billy Altieri.

Fan-favorite pistachio beverages are back at Starbucks stores nationwide, for a limited time while supplies last. The Pistachio Latte features flavors of sweet pistachio and a brown-buttery topping paired with espresso and steamed milk. It’s available hot, iced or as a Frappuccino blended beverage. Also returning is the Pistachio Cream Cold Brew, which features Starbucks Cold Brew sweetened with vanilla syrup, topped with smooth, nutty pistachio cream cold foam and salted brown butter sprinkles.

New food items on the winter menu include Potato, Cheddar & Chive Bakes that combine cage-free eggs, diced potatoes, cheddar cheese, spinach and a touch of chives, and are baked until golden brown.

“When creating the Potato, Cheddar & Chive Bakes, we wanted to provide customers with a high-protein vegetarian option for their morning,” says Freshta Khosravi, a member of Starbucks food development team. “We were inspired by the familiar breakfast casserole, and the savory combination of diced potatoes, cheese, spinach, chives and eggs offers 12g of protein at only 210 calories for a comforting breakfast on-the-go.”

Also new is the Vanilla Bean Custard Danish, made with layers of sugared Danish dough, baked until golden brown and filled with a rich and velvety vanilla bean custard. It’s available at Starbucks stores nationwide for a limited time, while supplies last.

The Chicken, Maple Butter & Egg Sandwich joins the permanent menu, layering breaded white-meat chicken, fluffy eggs and a maple-butter spread on a toasted oat-biscuit roll.
