General Mills Foodservice has announced the four finalists in its 2nd Annual Biskies Recipe Contest, which celebrates the best biscuit creations on menus nationwide. The finalists will each receive at least a $5,000 cash prize and qualify for the $20,000 Grand Prize. The Grand-Prize Recipe Winner will be named following a public voting phase taking place today through April 30 on the General Mills Foodservice website.

The 2024 Biskies Recipe Contest finalists and their award-winning recipes include:

  • Matthew Eng, Blue Bamboo Canton Bistro in Jacksonville, Florida: Mini Korean Biscuit Dogs
  • Rebecca Thomas, Dixie Grill in Live Oak, Florida: Strawberry Cream Biscuit Bites
  • Kristi Sanders, Rustic Saloon in Montello, Wisconsin: BisGrit Shrimp
  • Jaime Fernández, Queen Margherita Trattoria in Nutley, New Jersey:  Banana and Chocolate Pudding with Biscuit and Vanilla Ice Cream

General Mills Foodservice, which partners with restaurants to provide back-of-house products, recipe inspiration and culinary support, launched The Biskies Recipe Contest in 2023 to celebrate biscuits in all their flavors and forms.

“The 2024 finalists truly showcase how biscuits play a starring role on menus,” says Chef Kevin Relf, a member of The Chefs of the Mills who helped judge this year’s biscuit entries. “We were wowed by their creativity and use of Pillsbury biscuits to create unique menu items that shine as entrees, appetizers and desserts.”

To enter the contest, chefs, owners and employees of commercial restaurants were asked to share an original recipe using a Pillsbury biscuit product and two or more additional ingredients by uploading a photo of their original biscuit recipe to the contest website, Facebook or Instagram. Recipe submissions were judged by the Chef of the Mills, General Mills Foodservice’s team of culinary professionals, with top nominees selected based on originality, foodservice viability, creativity and how well the recipe incorporated the Pillsbury biscuit product.

The Biskies Recipe Contest finalists now have the opportunity to engage their customers and community to vote for them to be the Grand-Prize Winner and help them win the $20,000 cash prize. Each of the four finalists will be featured on General Mills Foodservice’s website and social media channels from April 10-30 for a public vote to determine the final Grand-Prize and Runner-Up Winners. Final winners will be announced in mid-May.

To vote, the public can log on to the contest website and cast their vote for the dish they think deserves to win. There is a limit of one vote per person during the voting period. The finalist and dish with the highest number of total votes during the voting phase will be named the Grand-Prize Winner and receive $20,000. The remaining three will be named Runner-Up Winners and receive $5,000.
