In honor of School Lunch Hero Day, ITW Food Equipment Group has announced the second winner of the Save Your Kitchen 2022 campaign sweepstakes. The State College Area School District in State College, Pennsylvania, won by random selection the second of four drawings for 2022.

This seventh iteration of the popular K-12 kitchen equipment makeover initiative kicked off earlier this year. The Save Your Kitchen sweepstakes will provide free Traulsen and Hobart kitchen equipment to four winning sweepstake entrants throughout the year.

The State College Area School District is a large, suburban and rural public school district based in State College, Pennsylvania, that serves students and includes public schools in the Borough of State College, Pennsylvania, and the surrounding townships of College, Ferguson, Halfmoon, Harris, and Patton. The State College Area School District operates eight elementary schools, two middle schools, one high school and one Delta Program which is an alternative, democratic school with middle and high school levels.

The State College Area School District selected a One-Section Traulsen Reach-In Freezer which features 24 cubic feet of storage space and advanced technology like Traulsen’s StayClear Condenser coil and Smart Control. The freezer will create a more smooth and organized process for sending and receiving supplies to and from satellite schools.

The district also selected a Centerline by Hobart 20 Quart Mixer (HMM20), that has the Hobart quality every kitchen wants and the essential performance it needs. The mixer replaced an older model and is a perfect fit for their kitchen because it can be used for multiple applications and will help make delicious and house-made items in the middle school.

“I am extremely excited to be a part of the Save your Kitchen Sweepstakes,” says State College Area School District Elementary Food Service supervisor Travis Folmar. “This is an incredible prize package that Traulsen and Hobart have generously awarded to us! Everyone I have been in contact with has been very nice and excited for us.  Aside from my excitement from never winning anything before, this equipment will be a huge help in our production kitchen.”

“Every year we see hundreds enter this sweepstakes and we are happy to fulfill a real need in our schools,” says Hailey Elting, business development manager and K-12 specialist at Traulsen. “Kids deserve fresh, delicious and nutritious meals and our products certainly help make that happen.  What a great way to see our products in action and so appreciated!”

The next giveaway has already begun and is the largest prize package of the year including a Hobart AM16 base dish machine. The sweepstakes is open to K-12 nutrition professionals in the 50 states and Washington, DC.
