On Tuesday, July 21 at 2 p.m. CST, Retail Bakers of America (RBA) hosted a virtual town hall related to the coronavirus pandemic. Bakery leaders discussed how bakeries are remaking their business model as a result of lessons learned during the past few months.

One of those was Dan Busken of Busken Bakery, one of America’s most iconic bakeries. Busken talked about the strategic decisions the bakery had to make in order to streamline the business and stay profitable. He also discussed the difficult decisions to close locations and reorganize the cases which have helped the bakery with greater profitability during a time of uncertainty.

Leaders from other bakeries that have made similar moves joined Busken to talk about how these decisions to bring stress levels down and efficiency levels up. Attendees were able to share their stories and learn from fellow bakers.

The town hall was free to RBA members and $10 for non-RBA members.
