Pix Patisserie, based in Portland, Ore., has come up with a creative and safe way to get its pastries and other items to customers during the coronavirus pandemic.

On Thursday, May 28, the bakery launched its Pix-O-Matic. This refrigerated 24-hour vending machine features Pix desserts, macarons, craft products from other local businesses, groceries like toilet paper and much more.

The Pix-O-Matic will be located outside of Pix Patisserie’s front door. The vending machine will be thoroughly cleaned and restocked each day at 10 a.m. and will use contactless credit card reader for increased safety.

Pix Patisserie is still open for take-out orders. Owner Cheryl Wakerhauser is using the vending machine as a way to get baked goods to customers while reducing work time.
