Tartine Bakery, one of the biggest names in baking, continues to grow in California. Following a busy winter season for the brand, Tartine is planning a new location just east of the San Francisco Bay in Berkeley.

Yesterday, Tartine announced that it would be opening a casual café and bakery inside the Graduate Berkeley hotel this summer. The café joins Henry’s, a historic Berkeley pub, at the Graduate.

Tartine’s new café will serve breakfast and lunch, focusing on items like morning buns, croissants, tea cakes, cookies, breads, sandwiches, and salads, as well as coffee from Tartine’s own roastery, Coffee Manufactory.

Since their first bakery opened in 2002, Chad Robertson and Elisabeth Prueitt have grown the Tartine brand to three San Francisco locations, a Los Angeles location, and three locations in Seoul, South Korea.

Tartine Manufactory in Los Angeles debuted in late January, featuring artisan bread baking, on-site grain milling, on-site coffee roastery, freshly made pastas, unique restaurants, a marketplace, and a 7,000-square-foot bakery.
