Beginning Monday, September 16 and lasting through Sunday, September 22, Tim Hortons restaurants will be raising money for hospitals, charities, and community programs.
As part of its annual Smile Cookie fundraiser, Tim Hortons will be selling chocolate chunk Smile Cookies decorated with blue eyes and a pink smile for $1 (plus tax), with the full $1 amount going to help local communities of each restaurant. Last year, the campaign raised over $7.8 million.
The annual fundraiser began in 1996 and has grown to a substantial nationwide initiative. Close to 550 charities, hospitals, and community programs will benefit directly from the Smile Cookie campaign.
“Tim Hortons is a brand that has been built up town by town and city by city over the last 55 years and this is one of many initiatives that allow us to give back to the communities in which we live and work. Our guests, restaurant owners, and their team members feel incredibly proud knowing that the money raised during the campaign directly supports local causes,” says Mike Hancock, Chief Operating Officer for Tim Hortons. “We are excited for Smile Cookie’s return every September and to be able to support local charities, hospitals, and community programs across the country.”
