Beginning Monday, September 17 and lasting through Sunday, September 23, Tim Hortons restaurants will be raising money for hospitals, charities, and community programs.
As part of its annual Smile Cookie fundraiser, Tim Hortons will be selling chocolate chunk Smile Cookies decorated with blue eyes and a pink smile for $1 (plus tax), with the full $1 amount going to help local communities of each restaurant. Last year, the campaign raised over $6.5 million.
The annual fundraiser began in 1996 and has grown to a substantial nationwide initiative. More than 500 charities, hospitals, and community programs will benefit directly from the Smile Cookie campaign in North America.
“The magic of the Smile Cookie is that there is a real smile of a Canadian individual benefitting behind each and every one,” says Alex Macedo, President of Tim Hortons. “We are incredibly proud and deeply appreciative of what our restaurant owners and guests accomplish together each year with this program, raising millions of dollars to help those who need it most through donations to charities from coast-to-coast.”
Tim Hortons is urging people to show support for the campaign on social media using the hashtag #SmileCookie.
