Scott and Juli Chapin of CakeSafe

CakeSafe, developer of the patented CakeSafe transportation box built to keep fully assembled tiered cakes cool while safely moving them through hazardous conditions, was first created by Scott Chapin 29 years ago. For the next nearly three decades, Scott and his wife Juli have worked to make CakeSafe one of the leading names in cake transportation.

The Chapin’s continue to innovate, recently introducing a new version of CakeSafe built for cupcakes. The CupCakeSafe features shelves with pins to keep cupcakes secure and tip-proof as well as individual cups to add to the stability. It provides the same insulation and UV ray protection as the CakeSafe, but is built for these smaller desserts.

Thanks to his company’s success (growing an average of 40 percent per year since its founding in 2009), Scott Chapin had been nominated for the 2018 American Business Awards. Recently, it was announced that Chapin has won the Silver Award for Product Developer of the Year.

The nationwide award was determined after two months of judging and deliberation. Some of the judges’ comments referred to the product as “an engineering feat” and that it “deserves to be awarded.” CakeSafe spent months designing and testing the CupCakeSafe after many customer requests.
