In response to complaints that it had removed the popular sandwich from its menu, Panera Bread has announced that it is welcoming back the Toasted Frontega Chicken Sandwich.

The move comes after a 300 percent increase in mentions of Frontega Chicken across social channels, as more than 550 guests have shared their strong feelings and disappointment about the removal.

The Toasted Frontega Chicken Sandwich features smoked pulled chicken, melty mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, red onions, fresh basil and a kicking chipotle sauce on black pepper focaccia. Panera has brought back starting Wednesday, May 11, also known as “National Eat What You Want” Day. The sandwich will be available to all guests nationwide via digital ordering (Panera app, online and kiosks) for the foreseeable future.

To celebrate its return, the bakery-café chain is giving away free Frontega Chicken Sandwiches to the first 500 MyPanera Members that reply, retweet or quote tweet to this Panera tweet using #FrontegaFan. The winners will receive a code for free sandwich, redeemable via Panera’s digital properties until May 18, 2022.
