California-based La Brea Bakery, which has a bakery café in Los Angeles as well as additional locations in California, was recently named by LA Magazine readers as the Best Bread in the city.

The website’s readers voted for their favorite places in Los Angeles, and turned in more than 67,000 votes for various businesses in dozens of categories. La Brea Bakery, which celebrated a milestone 30th anniversary last year, has become well known both in California and around the country for its artisan breads.

While La Brea Bakery’s café in Los Angeles is a home base of sorts, customers nationwide can still get La Brea Bakery breads as they’re sold in grocery stores across the country and also available on Amazon Fresh.

In 1989, Nancy Silverton founded La Brea Bakery in Los Angeles, contributing to the growth of the artisan bread movement in the United States. Since that time, the bakery has gained national attention for its old-world baking techniques and has expanded its bread program to include gluten-free breads, take & bake varieties and much more.
