Thousands of visitors from all over the country will meet in Anaheim, California for what is being called “the biggest baking and pastry convention on the West Coast.” The LA Cookie Con and Sweets Show 2018 is set to take place February 10 and 11 at the Anaheim Convention Center, after outgrowing its previous setting at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
Some of the biggest celebrities in the baking industry will be joined by a sure-to-be-sold out crowd for two days of celebrating all things sweet, salty, and savory in the world of baking and sweets. Each year has gotten bigger and bigger as the convention gains in popularity.
Exhibitors from all across the industry will be featured at the convention. Bakeries, restaurants, chocolatiers, ice creameries, specialty snack companies, beverage companies, culinary schools, baking suppliers, and many more will reach consumers and network with other professionals at the female-driven, family-friendly event.
The Decorators’ Showcase and Contests will have four categories for submissions: World Dessert Table Championships (the theme is Animation Characters), Rock n’ Roll, Horror, and Wedding. Entrants can submit edible sugar art to these categories, and competitors will each have a 2’ area for their display and a sign with their name/business name and social media profiles. The general public will cast votes for their favorite works on Facebook, with the winners in each category receiving prizes and trophies.
Famed cake decorator Ron Ben-Israel will host the Decorators’ Showcase and Contests. The event is a charitable showcase, with proceeds from entry fees going to Cookies for Kids’ Cancer and Smile Train. Cookies for Kids’ Cancer is committed to raising funds for research to develop new, improved treatments for pediatric cancer. Smile Train is an international children’s charity with a sustainable approach to solving cleft lip and palate.
Tickets for this event are available now at LA Cookie Con and Sweets Show’s website.
