After a successful 2016 contest in which independent retail bakery owners from across the country submitted their stories, Flavor Right has brought back its successful Icing Funds contest for 2017. The innovative toppings and icings company received more responses than imagined, demonstrating the passion and entrepreneurial spirit that independent bakeries carry on every day.
For the Icing Funds contest, entrants are asked to complete a submission form on Flavor Right’s Facebook page telling their independent retail bakery’s story, their inspirations, and their dreams for their business. Flavor Right will award up to $20,000 in prizes to winning bakeries, including a grand prize of $5,000.
Last year, the winning bakery was Tina’s Cake Emporium in Windsor Locks, Connecticut. At the time of winning the award, owner Tina Salvatore said that she planned to use a portion of her $5,000 grand prize money to purchase a fondant sheeter so she can create her cakes a little faster.
The contest runs from now until August 11, 2017 at 11:59:59 p.m. ET. Each entrant must be a current, legal resident of one of the 50 United States or District of Columbia, at least 18 years of age as of the time of entry (at least 19 years of age if a resident of Alabama or Nebraska), and the owner of an independent, eligible bakery located within the 50 United States/D.C. with twenty or fewer locations. Winners of the 2016 Icing Funds contest are not eligible to participate.
