Nicole Rucker has become a fixture in the L.A. dessert scene for her indulgent pies. Unfortunately, it hasn’t been the easiest task to find her pies in recent years, as Rucker has primarily sold them from pop-up shops and food markets.

That will change later this year, as Nicole Rucker has announced that she will open a new bakery in the Los Angeles area at 142 S. La Brea Ave. during the summer. The opening comes as a result of her joining the restaurant group that operates The Golden State, Cofax, Prime Pizza, and Bludso's in Los Angeles.

Until then, her pies are available by special order at Cofax, and can also be found as an ingredient in the concretes at Shake Shack's new L.A. locations. Rucker also specializes in doughnuts, which are available at Cofax.

Rucker’s pies and pastries will be featured at the new bakery-restaurant, but it will also feature soups, main dishes, and so much more. "I think people are going to be really surprised because, right now, everybody knows me for making pie," Rucker tells Food and Wine. "I think people will be delightfully shocked that I can make other things."

Nicole Rucker was recently voted one of the top pastry chefs in Los Angeles by Eater Los Angeles editors and readers.
