There are filing systems and even color-coding. But what about using your actual wedding cake samples to keep your consultations straight? At Let Them Eat Cake in Phoenix, owner Barb Gardner has her samples doing double-duty, with just a little piping.

For her wedding consultations, she has potential brides sample 4" mini-cakes to get an idea of the taste and texture of her cakes. So what better place than right on the cake to keep the times straight. Her decorating team simply pipes the appointment time on the top of the cakes, which are then organized in the refrigerator and easy for staff to see and remove in time for the consultation.
