After months of planning, The Bake Fest is officially teaming up with the Retail Bakers of America (RBA) to launch a first-of-its-kind certification prep course for bakers.

The Baking Basics Bootcamp is a virtual prep course designed to prepare bakers for the Certified Journey Decorator (CJD) certification through Retail Bakers of America. This bootcamp is perfect for any baker who wants to get certified through Retail Bakers of America, including aspiring business bakers, home business bakers and retail bakers.

The CJD Certification is open to bakers with at least 1 year of baking experience, which can be defined by taking Bake Fest classes, doing continuing education or even attending trade show events. Anyone can get RBA certified, and this bootcamp gives them the support, resources and preparation needed to pass with flying colors.

The Baking Basics Bootcamp is a 12-week program offered through Circle, a virtual learning platform. It’s designed for flexibility, offering a mix of self-guided classes, group discussions and one-on-one support. Individuals will be guided by two instructors: Marissa Sertich Velie, director of education and certification at RBA, and Chef Raymond Blanchard, a certified master baker.

In addition to the prep course, cohort members receive a custom study guide, discounts to RBA workshops, RBA Membership ($100 value) and RBA Test Fee Coverage ($100 value).

The first Baking Basics Bootcamp will run from March 1 to June 1, 2024. This cohort is limited to 25 members, with spots filling up quickly. Early registration (waitlist only) opens January 22, and standard registration opens the following day.
