As 2022 comes to an end, Uber Eats is rounding out the year with its fourth annual Uber Eats Cravings Report, a snapshot of the most popular, unusual and unique delivery requests over the past 12 months. With the rise in delivery orders during the past few years of the pandemic, delivery platforms provide a unique look at what consumers are craving for meals, snacks and beyond.

“We’re thrilled to release the fourth annual Uber Eats Cravings Report – a look at the most popular, surprising and creative delivery requests we’ve seen over the past year,” says an Uber spokesperson. “At Uber Eats, we aim to satisfy all cravings no matter how unique. Whether it’s a Negroni Sbagliato or pickles and whipped cream, w’'re focused on helping consumers get anything delivered right to their door.”

Among the food and beverage takeout trends of the year:

  • Thanksgiving Hangovers and Leftovers – Items such as French fries and hashbrowns were among the most popular dishes ordered on Uber Eats this Thanksgiving. Following the holiday, consumers were prepping for Turkey Day leftover sandwiches with fresh bread being the top grocery item ordered on Thanksgiving.
  • The No Booze Boom – Many consumers were more curious in an alcohol-free lifestyle and looking for zero-proof options of their favorite drinks. Uber Eats orders for non-alcoholic beers, wines and spirits spiked 300 percent over the past year.
  • It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye – When Klondike announced they would stop making the Choco Taco, Uber Eats saw a large spike in convenience store orders for the ice cream novelty this year.
  • Everyone’s Drink of Choice – After being named dropped in a viral TikTok featuring actors from the HBO series The House of Dragon, the Negroni Sbagliato with Prosecco was the hottest drink of the fall. There was a sharp increase in orders of the cocktail’s ingredients of Campari, vermouth and prosecco this past October. Drizly, an Uber company, dug into its data for the Cravings Report, and found that Campari in particular saw a dramatic bump in share of close to 75 percent when the cocktail took over the internet.
  • Ranch fatigue – Customer’s desire for ranch dressing has dramatically dwindled in special requests on orders.
