A Chicago bakery has provided its customers with an adult-centric take on the popular smash cakes typically made for babies’ birthdays.

West Town Bakery is now offering election season smash cakes for its customers to destroy (or enjoy) ahead of the general election on Tuesday, November 3. The bakery is making the cakes in two versions, with images of either President Donald Trump or Vice President Mike Pence.

The cakes are vanilla with vanilla frosting and are four inches in diameter. They are also covered in sprinkles and labeled with ‘Smash Me’ on the side.

A portion of the proceeds from the cakes ($15) will go to the ACLU of Illinois “2020 Election: Let People Vote” campaign, which helps voters in Illinois get access to voting by mail during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

“We encourage everyone – our employees included – to go to the ACLU of Illinois website and register to vote and know your voting rights,” says The Fifty/50 Restaurant Group co-founders Greg Mohr and Scott Weiner. “Vote like your life depends on it – because it truly does. Everyone’s voice deserves to be heard in this election.”

West Town Bakery's smash cakes are available through Election Day, and the bakery encourages customers to order 72 hours in advance.
