Los Angeles-based chocolatier moved its Brentwood headquarters to a new design-forward space on La Brea Avenue on Monday, October 28, just in time for National Chocolate Day.

The Compartès Hollywood Chocolate Factory and Store, which spans over 6,000 square feet, will enable the company to accelerate its growth exponentially and globally expand with over 1,000 retailers selling Compartés chocolate bars worldwide.

“We will be focusing on expanding our wholesale chocolate business, as well as new retail opportunities and more partnerships and collaborations,” says Jonathan Grahm, Owner/CEO and Creative Director. “Compartés is iconic LA, from the palm tree laced identity and packaging to our Blonde Bombshell bar, which is an ode to Marilyn Monroe, who was one of our favorite regular customers, as were the Kennedys. No matter where you go in the world and you pick up a Compartés bar, you know it’s a homegrown LA specialty chocolate brand.”

The state-of-the-art chocolate factory and global headquarters features 60-foot glass windows where guests can view the chocolate making process from start to finish. The facility will hold events, tours, and tastings, and includes a unique gift shop and a space for private parties. Grahm, who designed the space with imported Italian marble, custom light fixtures, venetian plaster, and artisanal, handcrafted bespoke furniture, was named one of Forbes 30 Under 30, and his design work has been featured in the Smithsonian Museum.

“The chocolate factory and store have huge 14-foot-high custom-made brass doors leading to the chocolate factory with Art Deco features I designed that is reminiscent of the world-famous Hollywood Bowl’s famous repetition of shapes detail,” Grahm says. “The porthole windows with brass frames is my favorite part, and the flooring too, made from concrete that existed there for years that we acid washed in black to reveal their patina as far back as the 1950’s.”

The new facility will also meet growing demand for Compartés products. Among those is the company’s new line of organic vegan superfood chocolate bars, first introduced last month.

“I am excited to continue the expansion of Compartés in a really big way this year, and this new global headquarters will give us the opportunity to focus on bringing this top quality, special artisanal product I have created to more people in more places with the same handmade quality, pioneering design and flavor combinations we are known for in 2020 and beyond,” Grahm says.
