Dominique Ansel, one of the biggest names in baking and a star of the New York culinary scene, is teaming up with Shake Shack for breakfast. For two days only, Shake Shack’s West Village (New York) location will offer a special breakfast sandwich and latte designed by the famed Cronut creator.
On Friday, March 15 and Saturday, March 16, customers at that location can purchase the Katsu Egg Sando and the Morning Maple Latte starting at 8 a.m. EST.
The Katsu Egg Sando ($8) consists of tender steamed egg, breaded in panko and crisp fried, with miso-honey mayo served on Dominique Ansel milk bread. The Morning Maple Latte ($3) is made with La Colombe medium roast coffee with steamed maple milk, which can be served iced or hot.
Shake Shack’s West Village location has previously worked with Dominique Ansel on a menu item. In 2013, the pastry chef designed a special concrete based on his most famous creation for one day only. The Cronut Hole Concrete featured Shake Shack’s Butter Caramel frozen custard blended with three Cinnamon Sugar Cronut Holes, and another Cronut Hole on top. The concrete raised money for New York City Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association (PBA) Widows and Children’s Fund.
