Looking to rekindle America’s love of cupcakes, Magnolia Bakery plans to bring its famous treats to customers across the country with new store locations.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the bakery hopes to have as many as 200 stores in the U.S. in the next five years. The company’s CEO, Steve Abrams, says that Magnolia developed the ambitious plan with the goal of putting 1-3 bakeries in each of America’s top 50 markets.

The bakery first opened in the West Village in New York City in 1996, and quickly became a cultural phenomenon after being featured in the hit show Sex in the City. It has since grown to several locations throughout the country, including Chicago, Boston, and Los Angeles.

Magnolia Bakery is also expanding outside the U.S., with stores in Jordan, Qatar, Korea, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Mexico, and United Arab Emirates.

Cupcakes are a big part of Magnolia’s sales, but the big seller is its famous banana pudding. This classic recipe has catapulted Magnolia to the top of the baking world. Layers of creamy vanilla pudding, fresh bananas, and vanilla wafers make this dessert truly special and in high demand.
