Italian bakeries across the country are catching cannoli fever like never before.

Cannoli has arrived in Minnesota, where The Cake Boss is setting up shop at Mall of America. Carlo’s Bakery is opening a 2,000-square-foot location this summer on level 3 near Culinary on North. Featuring delicious cannoli and other pastries, desserts and cakes, guests will enjoy a taste of the well-known bakery’s full menu when the Mall of America location opens in time for the 25th birthday of Mall of America.

Earlier this year In April, Carlo’s Bakery unveiled the brand’s first location in Atlanta, Georgia, at the Perimeter Mall. In cooperation with GGP, celebrity chef and Cake Boss Buddy Valastro, alongside his famous famiglia, celebrated the grand opening of the 300-square-foot mini bakery. Local foodies and fans now have access to the brand’s signature desserts including cannoli, lobster tails, cupcakes, cookies, cakes, and more. The famed fares are prepared and baked fresh daily on premises.

“To finally have the opportunity to reach our fans that are based in the Atlanta-area is incredible to me,” states Buddy Valastro. “Mia famiglia and I meet people all the time and we always get asked to open here or there, in this country, in that city, and we really wish we could just go ahead and open the doors to a Carlo’s Bakery but a lot goes into it. We take our time, we find the right locations, we make sure we can share our treats exactly as you would get them in Hoboken before we even think to open.”

With locations in New York, New Jersey, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Florida, Connecticut, Georgia, and Texas, this will be the first Midwest Carlo’s Bakery location. The flagship location in Hoboken, New Jersey.

In St. Louis, Piccione Pastry recently celebrated the occasion of the August 21 solar eclipse by introducing the “Total Eclipse of the Cannoli,” featuring each flavor of Piccione’s secret signature cream (chocolate and vanilla) stuffed inside of the shop’s authentic Italian cannoli shell, creating a tasty treat for only $4. “As St. Louis’ only late-night Italian pastry shop, guests can stop-in to enjoy authentic Italian treats at any time,” says Colleen McBryan, Piccione’s pastry chef. “The black and white, chocolate and vanilla theme is the perfect way to mark a special occasion with our desserts, which are offered day and night.”

There’s even a National Cannoli Day, and Piccione Pastry is never one to miss a promotional opportunity. Each year on June 16, Piccione Pastry offers all of the tasty, crispy-crunchy, smooth-and-creamy mini cannoli that guests can eat.
