The International Franchise Association (IFA) has recognized Nothing Bundt Cakes franchisee Jim Sheahan with its annual Franchisee of the Year Award at its 2023 convention, held February 26 to March 1 in Las Vegas.
The Franchisee of the Year Award, sponsored by IFA’s partner, Paychex, recognizes leading franchise owners from IFA member brands whose outstanding performance and contributions help protect, enhance and promote the franchise business model.
Individuals are selected for their service to their communities, fostering a strong and vibrant workforce, opening the doors for career growth and entrepreneurship and supporting their fellow franchisees.
“As we like to say, we’re not just in the cake business, we are in the joy-bringing business, and Jim completely embodies that value,” says Nothing Bundt Cakes chief operating officer Julie Klinger. “We admire Jim’s dedication to our brand and his passion for his team members. For Jim to be recognized with such a prestigious award is an incredible testimony to the legacy he has built within his community.”
Sheahan openedhis first bakery in 2011 in Flower Mound, Texas. Since then, he has opened two additional North Texas locations in Denton and Lewisville, as well as four Oklahoma locations Yukon, Norman, Broken Arrow and Owasso with plans to open 11 additional bakeries.
“I became a bakery owner because I admired the brand and wanted to make an impact on the people in my community,” says Sheahan. “Not only am I able to have a direct impact on the lives of my teams, but I also have the opportunity to bring joy to the lives of many whether they’re celebrating a birthday, anniversary or a ‘just because’ moment.”
