Glendora, California’s The Donut Man has become renowned for its donuts. Opened in 1972, the shop has become not just a culinary icon, but a cultural example of the American Dream. Jim and Miyoko Nakano opened the donut shop seeking to achieve their dreams through entrepreneurship. Originally the donut shop was part of a franchise, but in the mid 80’s Jim became independent and The Donut Man was born.

The Donut Man is best known for its iconic fresh fruit donuts, especially the Fresh Strawberry Donut. The Strawberry Donut has been featured in local and national media, including Food Network’s The Best Thing I Ever Ate.

In January, The Donut Man announced that strawberry season had returned at the shop. More specifically, it brought back its popular Strawberry Donut, featuring a decadent glazed donut stuffed with ripe strawberries.

From now through the summer, the Strawberry Donut is available to customers. The treat costs $4.75 and brings in visitors both near and far. It’s considered one of the most Instagrammable desserts in the country, with a look that matches its taste.

In the heart of the summer, Peach Donuts are another popular seasonal offering. The shop encourages customers to call ahead of time to ensure that its seasonal donuts are available on a particular day.
