One year ago, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts made the decision to turn its glaze waterfall chocolate for one Friday each month, and the promotion has been a popular one ever since.

To celebrate that anniversary, the chain is offering a $2 Chocolate Glazed dozen with the purchase of any dozen on Friday, August 2. The Chocolate Glazed dozen features Krispy Kreme’s classic Original Glazed Doughnut smothered in rich chocolate glaze.

“In Chocolate Glaze, as in life, things can get messy. But man, is it worth it!” says Dave Skena, Chief Marketing Officer for Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corporation.

Chocolate glazed doughnuts were first introduced in 2017 for America’s first coast-to-coast total solar eclipse in nearly 100 years. They were offered on the day of the eclipse – Monday, August 21 – as well as the weekend before.
