Corner Bakery Cafe is proud to announce another year as a partner in Share Our Strength’s Dine Out For No Kid Hungry campaign, joining thousands of restaurants and millions of consumers nationwide in raising funds toward the goal of ending childhood hunger in the US. While the week-long event takes place from September 16 to 22, 2012, Corner Bakery Cafe’s fundraising initiative will extend from September 1 to September 23, offering guests even greater opportunities to make a difference throughout their local communities. By visiting a Corner Bakery Cafe, guests can participate in two different ways: a $1 donation will be rewarded with a free Whoopee Pie on their next visit, or a $5 donation will be rewarded with a booklet of special offers worth $45. Each guest that donates will be recognized with a special card featuring their name that will be displayed on the walls of their local cafe. Participating cafe locations are available at DineOutForNoKidHungry.org.

“September is definitely a favorite month for all of us at Corner Bakery Cafe because of the Dine Out for No Kid Hungry,” says Diana Hovey, chief marketing officer at Corner Bakery Cafe. “Over the past four years, through the generosity of our guests, franchise partners and our team, we have been able to contribute over $610,000. This September we hope to reach our 2012 goal of $325,000 and continue to make a difference in the lives of the children in our own communities and beyond.”

Now in its fifth year, Dine Out No Kid Hungry has raised more than $4 million for Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign, and Corner Bakery Cafe has been involved since the beginning. The funds raised through this and other No Kid Hungry programs help kids across America gain access to healthy food through free school breakfasts, after-school and summer meals, access to community gardens and farmers markets and connections to local food pantries. Still, over 16 million American children are at risk of hunger every day.

“Everyone – private citizens, businesses, policymakers, and nonprofits – has a role in helping end childhood hunger in America,” says Billy Shore, Founder and CEO of Share Our Strength. “I encourage everyone to dine out often at participating restaurants wherever they are this September. Then visit NoKidHungry.org to join this national movement to ensure that every child in America has access to the nutritious food they need, every day.”
