NASA's Johnson Space Center and Mrs Baird's Bakeries both have a rich Texas history. To commemorate the successful Space Shuttle program, Mrs Baird's Bakeries has partnered with Space Center Houston to send one grand prize lucky winner and three guests to watch the launch of the Space Shuttle Discovery on September 16, 2010 at a VIP event at Space Center Houston.

The Mrs Baird's 3-2-1 Launch Party promotion begins June 21st and runs through August 15th. Customers can register for the contest online at www.mrsbairds.com. In addition to the grand prize drawing, Mrs Baird's Bakeries will give 50 first prize winners a commemorative patch honoring the historic shuttle program.

"We are excited to be a part of this historic year for the space program," said Dan Larson, Marketing Director for the Mrs Baird's brand. "It's a once-in-a-lifetime chance for one of our customers and their family to experience the launch of one of the final space shuttle missions before its retirement. Partnering with Space Center Houston was a natural fit because we're both long-time Texas traditions."

"The space program has been an important part of our country's history," said Michael Wampler, marketing manager for Space Center Houston. "We plan to make the final shuttle launches a celebration for what the program has accomplished and what it has meant to all of us."

All Mrs Baird's customers can enjoy a special five-dollar off coupon on specially marked products including its Large Loaf White bread, Extra-Thin White bread, and Honey Wheat Hot Dog and Hamburger buns.
