Breakfast is not only the most important meal of the day, but many people also consider it to be one of the best parts of their day, period. That is reflected in a recent survey came out just in time for Better Breakfast Month in September.

The survey, conducted by the National Honey Board, shows that 92 percent of Americans enjoy breakfast at least once a week. Of that number, 69 percent said eggs are their favorite breakfast food while 46 percent chose either bacon or sausage.

3 in 4 Americans eat their breakfast at home, while 18 percent do so either in the car or at their desk. Nearly half of those surveyed said they prefer a breakfast with a sweet element, and that number rises to 60 percent with Generation Z.

National Honey Board conducted the survey to show the benefits of honey to a good breakfast, as September is also National Honey Month. The survey shows that 36 percent of Americans are more likely to eat oatmeal, granola, or cereal as a breakfast option if flavored with honey. Most notably, 1 in 3 Americans who eat breakfast would be more likely to eat healthier foods when flavored with honey.
