Vegan gourmet cinnamon roll bakery Cinnaholic has been undergoing huge growth in 2018. It closed out the second quarter of the year with over 136 locations in development, and one of those is coming to the Washington, D.C. area.

In early 2019, Gaithersburg, Maryland will be the site of the newest Cinnaholic store. It will be the second location in the state of Maryland and the first in the Washington, D.C. area. It will join several businesses, including Harris Teeter, Ruth’s Chris, and &pizza, at Gaithersburg’s 250,000-square-foot Downtown Crown retail project.

Cinnaholic was founded in 2009, gained national attention after an appearance on ABC’s Shark Tank, and began franchising in 2014. The company was recently named to Entrepreneur Magazine’s “Top New Franchises of 2018” list for its unique and attractive franchise opportunity. Its gourmet cinnamon rolls come with over 30 frosting flavors and toppings to choose from, all dairy-free and egg-free.

“To say we’re ‘on a roll’ is an understatement,” Florian Radke, co-founder of Cinnaholic, said earlier this year. “This has been an incredible growth-year for us—and we’re only half-way through. After proving our concept to be a hit with consumers, franchisees, and industry insiders, we’ve been able to significantly grow the Cinnaholic footprint and become a highly sought-after franchise opportunity, both at home and internationally.”
