In a move that is sure to excite bread bowl fans, Panera Bread will soon begin testing of a double bread bowl
concept at some of its stores.

The bakery-cafe chain has announced that it will test its new double bread bowls during the month of August in Philadelphia. Starting August 5, these locations will offer an entire loaf of bread with two holes hollowed out on opposite ends. Customers can fill those two holes with with any mac and cheese and soup combo.

Panera recommends "sharing with your BFF, significant other, or even a co-worker," although one hungry customer would be able to handle the double bread bowl. The product is also available through online ordering if customers use special instructions while placing their orders.

If the test run is successful in August, Panera could soon launch the product nationwide. Undoubtedly, there will be many people around the country keeping an eye on the news to see if that announcement is eventually made.
