With July 4th approaching and Americans getting ready to celebrate our Independence Day in their own special ways, bakeries are getting in on the fun with themed treats.

One of those is Federal Donuts in Philadelphia. The iconic donut shop with multiple locations throughout the city recently announced that it has added a limited-time donut to the menu for America’s birth week, and it is known as the 1776.

The 1776 consists of a milk-glazed donut topped with patriotic sanding sugar in red, white, and blue colors. It is available starting Monday, July 2 at the Federal Donuts location at 16th and Sansom in Philadelphia, and will be available at all of its other locations from Tuesday, July 3 until Sunday, July 8.

Recently, Federal Donuts offered a Prince-themed donut in honor of what would have been the late singer’s 60th birthday. On Thursday, June 7, the shop offered the Purple Rain donut, a vanilla lavender flavor decorated in the color purple.
