According to new findings from a National Restaurant Association (NRA) survey, one-third of all adults in America plan to eat a meal at a restaurant or other foodservice establishment on Mother’s Day.

Sunday, May 13 will see nearly 34 percent of adults dining out, with nearly half of these people going out for dinner. 35 percent of these adults will go to lunch and 24 percent for brunch. Meanwhile, 11 percent said they would go out for breakfast.

“Restaurants are the backbone of American communities.  On Mother’s Day, consumers will find many meal options at the more than 1 million restaurant and foodservice operations located throughout the United States,” says Hudson Riehle, senior vice president of research for the NRA. “Whether it’s at breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dinner, diners will be out and about, celebrating with family and friends, and enjoying a great restaurant meal during this special occasion.”

The National Restaurant Association also asked women about the gift they’d most like to receive on Mother’s Day. 47 percent want to eat a restaurant meal with family, 15 percent want picked flowers, 11 percent want household or home décor items, and 10 percent want a restaurant gift card.
