Portland’s iconic donut shop, Blue Star Donuts, has experienced tremendous growth since 2012. The shop’s gourmet donuts have become an obsession for the local community, and now those people will have a new place to visit and enjoy these treats.

According to The Oregonian, Blue Star Donuts will open its new flagship location to the public in mid-June. The 5,000-square foot facility will house its entire production facility, headquarters, and a retail space. It will feature the classic Blue Star flavors, such as its famed Cointreau Crème Brulee Donut and the popular Blueberry Bourbon Basil Donut.

Among the new donuts that will be offered is the returning Fried Chicken Donut, a sweet and savory combination that consists of a glazed donut with spiced honey that is topped with fried chicken pieces and served with a side of hot sauce.

Blue Star Donuts is looking to bring new ideas to its new location. Other options being discussed include cinnamon rolls made with Blue Star's signature brioche dough, and late-night Champagne and donut pairings. New beverages include Coava cold brew and Steven Smith iced tea on tap at the shop counter.

CEO Katie Poppe and her team are ready to bring new flavors to Portland and explore the capabilities of their new facility. “It's kind of a dream come true,” she says.
