Duck Donuts has announced a new twist on its popular OBX Donut Breakfast Sandwich. At participating locations, customers will now be able to get the sandwich in a spicy version that is based on the same recipe as the original, with the addition of a drizzle of Texas Pete hot sauce.

The OBX Donut Breakfast Sandwich features a warm sliced donut which is customized with a choice of egg, cheese, sausage or bacon, topped with maple drizzle and chopped bacon. Customers can now enjoy this all-day option of savory, sweet, and spicy.

“Duck Donuts is always striving for innovative ways to add additional flavors and new varieties to our menu,” says Russ DiGilio, founder and CEO of Duck Donuts Franchising Company. “Everyone loves bacon and donuts, and now for those who like spice, we’ve kicked it up a notch by adding hot sauce to the flavorful and unique donut breakfast sandwich.”

The donut chain recently celebrated the return of spring with seasonal donuts. Until June 3, customers can get a new offering that features Key lime-flavored icing atop a vanilla cake donut, mimicking the taste of Key lime pie when topped with graham cracker crumbs and marshmallow drizzle.
