Just over a year ago, The Modern Pod Company launched a product innovation known as Hummus Pods. These healthy “snacketizers” deliver hummus in a completely unique way and they caught on quickly after their introduction.

Now, the company is looking to grow the product even further. Last week, Modern Pod announced that it was expanding distribution across the country for its Hummus Pods. Over 2,500 retail locations now carry these pods, including big names such as Whole Foods, Kroger, Hannaford, and Earth Fare.

Made from premium ingredients, these pods come in delicious flavors like Zesty Lemon, Sriracha Lime, and Smoky Chipotle. They take advantage of multiple trends in the industry, including healthy and convenient snacking. They’re a good source of protein and fiber, and are just 150 calories per three pod serving.

“We've selected the best ingredients from the start, to create the best plant-based experience on the planet,” says Becky McCartin, a Modern Pod Product Developer.

Each pod features creamy hummus made from homegrown chickpeas, extra virgin olive oil, and exotic spices, encased in a wholesome, multigrain crust. It provides a new way for consumers to get the delicious taste of hummus.

 “The Hummus category is ready for disruption,” says Stephanie Gladstone, VP of Sales for The Modern Pod Company. “Hummus is widely popular and growing, but consumers crave new forms, new flavors, and new experiences.”
