To further strengthen its Nashville presence, Tiff’s Treats has acquired Jake’s Bakes. The Nashville-based company has a similar business model to Tiff’s Treats. Its retail location in Nashville will close in March for a brief remodel and reopen as Tiff’s Treats’ second store in the city.
Jake Veyhl, founder of Jake’s Bakes, will take a hands-on role at Tiff's Treats as the Nashville district manager, overseeing the Nashville operations and expansion. “I enjoyed introducing Nashville to the warm cookie delivery concept and am thrilled to play an active role in bringing Tiff's Treats to the area,” says Veyhl.
In November of 2017, Tiff’s Treats received $25 million in funding from Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital to support further national expansion. With the addition of the Nashville stores, the Austin, Texas-based company will have nearly 40 locations throughout Texas, Georgia, and Tennessee.
“We have had our sights set on expanding into Nashville for quite some time as we feel there is a great energy here, similar to our home base in Austin,” says Tiff’s Treats co-founder Tiffany Chen. “By joining with Jake's Bakes and acquiring his business, we are able to have two great locations in Nashville right off the bat. Jake's Bakes has done a great job building a brand, and merging together helps us expand our footprint faster,” adds co-founder Leon Chen.
