Magnolia Bakery has gained a reputation as a premiere cupcake destination, both domestically and internationally. The cupcakery has locations in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Mexico, Korea, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates.

This year, Magnolia is looking to makes its mark in another major city. According to Eater, it is expected to open a location in Washington, D.C.’s Union Station sometime early in 2018.

The historic intermodal transportation and shopping center is located just blocks from the U.S. Capitol Building. It has become an iconic destination for visitors looking to shop and dine, and with the addition of Magnolia Bakery another icon will be available for their enjoyment.

Magnolia Bakery will be joined by other new dining options at Union Station, including pizza chain Neapolitan Express, San Francisco’s Blue Bottle Coffee, and chicken sandwich chain Chik-fil-A. Magnolia will not be the only bakery located inside the station, as premium macaron bakery Ladurée debuted its new storefront there in May of 2017.
