Steven J. Matson has joined milling company Bay State Milling as director of manufacturing milling operations while Bart Hahlweg has been named director of core milling commercial management.
 
Mr. Matson has 25 years of operations leadership in the food industry, including experience in flour milling facility management. He is a member of the International Association of Operative Millers, where he serves on the education committee. Also for the I.A.O.M., he has served as a director representing the Wheat State District and as chairman of the Flour City District.
 
Mr. Matson received a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Minnesota, Institute of Technology.
 
Mr. Hahlweg will manage the inside sales and customer service group for core milling, and he will be responsible for capacity management in support of the organization’s market sales strategy. Mr. Hahlweg previously was a regional manager focused on food ingredient distribution and supply chain management. He has more than 23 years of experience in operational sales within the milling industry and is a past president of the I.A.O.M.
 
Mr. Hahlweg received a bachelor of science degree in agriculture/business from Colorado State University.
