The app noticed two food/beverage trends that dominated certain times of the year. First, the Unicorn Frappuccino. According to Swarm, an app from Foursquare that allows user to keep a fun, interactive record of the places they go, unicorn mentions went up my a multiple of 19 during the week of April 19-23, compared to the week prior.
Another noticeable trend this year was maple flavor, which we wrote was making a play for pumpkin spice’s crown as king of fall flavors. Foursquare reports that mentions of maple increased 5.7x this fall compared to last year.
