Macaron Parlour in Manhattan opened in 2011 and quickly gained a reputation for its variety of fantastic macaron flavors. One of the flavors that helped the bakery receive plenty of attention in the following years was its Cheetos macaron.

The shell of the macaron is dyed orange and covered in Cheetos dust to give it the resemblance of a Cheeto, while the filling is made from a Cheetos-infused white chocolate ganache. The unusual flavor is sweet and cheesy, giving the tastebuds a bit of a shock.

Macaron Parlour co-owner Christina Ha developed it around Halloween one year when she was in possession of some Cheetos dust and thought to combine it with something sweet. The result was a seasonal offering that became a hit with customers.

“We didn’t realize it, but the weirder flavors were defining us,” says Ha. Among those interesting flavors are Tiramisu, S’mores, Apple Cider Caramel, Carrot Cake, and Rosemary & Olive Oil.
