2016 James Beard Foundation Outstanding Baker Joanne Chang is celebrating National Bakery Day at all 7 of her Flour Bakery + Café locations throughout Boston and Cambridge in Massachusetts.

The nationally-recognized bakery will hold demonstrations all day on Thursday, September 28. These 20 minute sessions will feature one of its pastry chefs or head bakers teaching how to make something from the Flour menu.

Some of the products that will be taught include Flour’s lemon meringue pie and fruit tarts. The bakery will also teach visitors how to shape croissants, decorate cupcakes, and write with chocolate. At 2 p.m. EST, there will be a tour of the company’s “Breadquarters” in Allston, Massachusetts that will also feature a cake lottery.

Additionally, Flour Bakery + Café will be selling special mini chocolate cupcakes with rainbow sprinkles. All proceeds from the mini cupcake sales will go to Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign, which aims to end childhood hunger in America.
