The Duck Donuts franchise announced that its 50th store has opened in Asheville, North Carolina. It is also the 17th store in the state. Like its other locations, the new Duck Donuts has the franchise’s iconic beach theme.

Duck Donuts continues to expand, with plans for 70 stores in 14 U.S. states by the end of 2017.

To celebrate the milestone of its 50th store, Duck Donuts will hold a special celebration at the Asheville location on Saturday, October 7 which will include face painting, merchandise giveaways, and a raffle to win free donuts for a year.

“We are thrilled to announce our 50th store opening and even more excited to continue enhancing our footprint in North Carolina, the state where it all began,” says Russ DiGilio, Duck Donuts founder and CEO. “As a family-founded and community-oriented franchising company, we look forward to continuing our growth and serving the families and businesses that make each location so special for many years to come!”

Donuts at the Asheville location will be made fresh to order 7 days a week, Sunday through Tuesday from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST and Wednesday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. EST.

“Our first Duck Donuts experience occurred after my sister shared photos of the donuts claiming they were relatable to our grandmother's homemade donuts, a memorable family treat,” says the Asheville location’s co-owner Beckie McGee. “Trying for ourselves, the donuts exceeded our expectations, and so here we are today in Asheville, ready to share the experience of a warm, delicious and made-to-order donut with the thriving community.”
