Once a baker as a hobby, Yukiko Morita now uses her skills to make illuminating loaves of bread for sale.  The Japanese artist’s new project, Pampshade, converts bread into lamps by adding LED lights, batteries, cables, and a layer of protective resin.

After a loaf of bread is baked, Morita carves out the interior and install the electrical components. Some of these lamps can be battery-powered, while others are plugged into outlets.

There are currently seven bread sockets to choose from on Morita’s website. Click here to to view a slideshow of these incredible bread lamps.
