Avalon is quickly building a bakery empire in Detroit, Michigan. The bakery already has four locations (three of them retail) throughout Detroit and Ann Arbor, and one more location is soon to open that will satisfy biscuit lovers.

Avalon Café and Biscuit Bar is opening this summer inside Cafe Con Leche’s former New Center space. The 70-seat shop will offer many of the same items as its other locations, including Mighty Good Coffee, pastries like sticky buns, sandwiches, salads, and ice cream from Reilly Craft Creamery for Faygo floats and espresso affogatos.

The highlight of the menu will be its buttermilk biscuits. The cafe will even feature a bar for customizing the biscuits with toppings.

According to a press release, the café space will be a “bright, contemporary look with the cozy feel that Avalon embodies.”

“As an emerging commercial and residential area, New Center is the perfect place to introduce our new biscuit bar, while offering the favorites that our regulars have loved for two decades,” CEO and co-founder Jackie Victor said in the press release. “The cafe will be just a few blocks away from the end of the QLine and will offer area residents, visitors, and employees a place to get fresh, delicious foods at a new local gathering place.”
