Houston’s Three Brothers Bakery is celebrating LGBT Pride Month in June with a vibrant 7-layer rainbow cake creation, featuring layers of lavender, dark purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, and red. The promotion also coincides with Houston’s Pride Week, which takes place June 18-25.

Both 8-inch whole rainbow cakes and slices, topped with rainbow sprinkles, will be available in-store only at the three Houston area bakery locations beginning Friday, June 16.

“Our rainbow cake is a bright, fun way for Houstonians to show their LGBT pride,” says Bobby Jucker, Three Brothers Bakery co-owner. “This is the first year the bakery is featuring rainbow goods and products during the month of June. It’s a tradition we’re excited and proud to start."

The first Pride Month was established in the year 2000 by President Bill Clinton, but in 2009 it was expanded by President Barack Obama to be more inclusive.
