On Thursday, May 4, Einstein Bros. Bagels announced the launch of its new Boosted Bagels, an innovative line of bagels containing beneficial vitamins and functional ingredients to help customers kick-start their day.

One of these new products is an espresso-infused Espresso Buzz Bagel, which is being referred to as "the world’s first caffeinated bagel." The Espresso Buzz Bagel carries about a third of the caffeine that a person would get in an average eight ounce coffee.

Additionally, the company is also introducing the sweet, oat-topped Cherry Chia Bagel and the mouth-watering Savory Parm Bagel.

Each bagel is full of rich nutrients for a healthy boost:

  • Espresso Buzz Bagel – boosted with 32mg of caffeine and 13g of protein
  • Cherry Chia Bagel – boosted with 300mg of omega-3 ALA and 12g of protein
  • Savory Parm Bagel – boosted with iron, B1, B2 and 12g of protein

Einstein Bros. Bagels is launching the Boosted Bagels as part of National Nurses Week, which takes place May 6-12, 2017. In recognition of National Nurses Week, any nurse who stops by a participating Einstein Bros. Bagels location on Thursday, May 11 wearing his or her scrubs or showing ID will receive a free Espresso Buzz Bagel and schmear.

"When the launch of Boosted Bagels coincided with National Nurses Week, we knew it was a perfect opportunity to thank a group of people who give others a boost when they need it most," says Kerry Coyne, Einstein Bros. Bagels SVP of Marketing, R&D, and Catering. "We hope the nation's nearly four million nurses take us up on our offer for a free Espresso Buzz Bagel and shmear to jumpstart their day or give them a boost after a long night on the job."
