St. Louis, MO-based donut shop Strange Donuts is promoting a worthy cause through social media in a unique way.

The company is asking people to challenge their friends, family, or coworkers to a race. Participants are asked to capture the race on Instagram story and tag Strange Donuts’ Instagram account (@StrangeDonuts). While the video is active, users can go to any Strange Donuts location and show the video to an employee.

The winner of each race will receive a free donut. The loser of each race will be asked to donate $1 to Strange Cares, a donut-driven nonprofit focused on empowering kids’ lives with help from partners Big Brothers Big Sisters, The Children’s Heart Foundation, and Girls on the Run.

100% of the funds raised will go towards awarding scholarships to deserving kids in the St. Louis area.

The most memorable race competitors will be ‘showered with gifts’ from Strange Donuts and receive track suits.

The competition will last from now until National Donut Day, taking place June 2. Strange Donuts’ National Donut Day celebration will take place the following day, Saturday, June 3, outside of its Maplewood location in St. Louis.
