In a recent interview with People, Oprah Winfrey shared her love for the English muffins from a bakery in Napa Valley, California.

The media mogul talked about her greatest extravagance, which is “flying in English muffins from Napa Valley. There's a specific English muffin made by these two women at this wonderful bakery in Napa Valley. I know it's not a good carbon footprint to fly in your English muffins but...”

The English Muffins come from Model Bakery. Oprah also included them in her 2016 Favorite Things, an annual list that is extremely popular with her fans. They cost $40 for a dozen and a jar of preserves.

Model Bakery has been a part of the Napa Valley culinary scene for close to 90 years. Karen Mitchell has been the proprietor of the business for almost 30 years. She oversees two locations in the area, which specialize in artisan breads made with organic stone flours and a complete range of pastry products.

English muffins may be the bakery’s most famous item after the Oprah shout-out. “I don’t have to tell you all how much I love bread. These English muffins are my current carb of choice: crunchy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and scrumptious all over—especially when slathered with the amazing Clif Family preserves that are included,” Winfrey said in the product’s description on her 2016 Favorite Things list.
