Lesaffre announced that it had established Lesaffre Zimbabwe through the acquisition of a majority stake in Anchor Yeast in September of 2015. Yesterday, February 8, Lesaffre celebrated the first Baking Center in Southern Africa opening through the Zimbabwean subsidiary.

The Baking Center will be a center of expertise in bread making, dedicated to training, technical support, product and process development, and commercial presentations of the products.

Today, there are 38 Baking Centers across the world on 5 continents, which provide a spark for ideas and solutions to break making techniques as well as the development of new products. Lesaffre Zimbabwe is one of the lastest.

“Lesaffre is very pleased to continue to invest in Zimbabwe, where we have been present for just over a year. Currently, Lesaffre is in the process of upgrading and expanding the Gweru yeast plant, the main focus being to improve quality and increase exports into the region,” says Antoine Baule, CEO of Lesaffre.

Lesaffre is a major global player in yeast and fermentation, supplying commercial bakers with the highest quality products.
