Dawn Foods has announced that Dexter Bakery in Dexter, Michigan is the winner of its National Donut Party Contest, a unique promotional program developed by Dawn for independent retail bakeries across the country to celebrate both National Donut Month and the recent election season.

To help bakers develop engaging, robust social media programs, Dawn Foods created an online social media photo contest that encouraged bakeries to share Donut Party images via their social media channels throughout October. Dexter Bakery received the most customer “likes” for their images and won the National Donut Party election.  Dexter Bakery was awarded an Election Day Donut Party at their location that included a custom program complete with assistance from Dawn bakery techs, free ingredients, promotional support, Donut Month premiums and more.

“Campaigns like this one are meant to provide our bakery customers with ideas that help them build their business and improve the relationships they have with their customers,” says Becky Loveland, VP, North American Marketing and R&D. “The Donut Party highlights our belief that thinking outside of the box can turn every day events into an opportunity to bring new customers through the door.”

Dexter Bakery, located in the heart of Dexter, MI, received 2,281 Facebook votes on their Donut Party Photos. They hosted their Donut Party on Election Day, inviting customers to enjoy free donut holes and signature soft pretzels, promotions and t-shirt giveaways.
