Florida Technical College's Culinary Arts and Baking and Pasteleria diploma programs are now accredited by the American Culinary Federation Education Foundation (ACFEF), the largest professional organization of chefs and cooks in the nation.

The ACFEF's accreditation process is as rigorous as it is comprehensive. It recognizes only culinary and hospitality-related programs that meet or exceed industry standards for education and training. Schools seeking ACFEF's seal of approval must have seamlessly structured programs with clearly defined objectives, well qualified and experienced instructors and facilities that are conducive to superb skills development.

"This accreditation is a testament to the quality of our culinary programs, our faculty and students," said FTC president and CEO David Ruggieri. "We're forming top-notch professionals, ready to leave their mark in the hospitality industry and compete in creativity and technique with the very best. We couldn't be any prouder."

Upon completion of their programs, FTC culinary arts and baking graduates will receive an ACFEF Certified Culinarian certificate in addition to their diplomas.

FTC's campuses are located in Orlando, Lakeland, DeLand, Kissimmee, Pembroke Pines and Cutler Bay.

"Employers everywhere recognize ACFEF as the culinary industry leader for educational resources, training and accreditation that is meaningful because it enhances professional growth," said Alex Martinez, culinary arts instructor. ''We are confident that an FTC diploma coupled with an ACFEF certificate will gives our students a winning edge in the job market."

Graduates are able to make a seamless transition from classrooms into professional high-end kitchens. In addition, FTC's proximity to the Orlando-Kissimmee and south Florida tourism corridors, allows for many opportunities to work in hotels, resorts, timeshares, restaurants, theme parks and cruises.
